Baptisms for babies and young children take place on the first Sunday of every month except January.

Note: Children aged 5 and upwards have their own preparation programme - please contact Father Jerome directly.

Parents request a Baptism by filling a form obtained from the Parish Priest and returning it to the Presbytery. The Baptism Preparation Team process the forms and contact the parents confirming the date of the Baptism.
We hold a preparation meeting for the parents and godparents on the Thursday evening before the Baptism itself. At this meeting, we take the parents and godparents through the Baptism liturgy, preparing them for what they are to say and do. We explain the meaning of each section of the Liturgy and its associated symbols and signs.
We emphasise that this Baptismal liturgy belongs to the families: in particular, the families take responsibility for the Liturgy of the Word and the Bidding Prayers.
At the request of the parents, baptisms may take place in one of the regular Sunday Masses - please contact the Parish Priest.
