RCIA - The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults
RCIA is the preferred way for enquirers to be introduced to Catholic teaching and subsequently to become new members through the ‘Rites of Initiation’.
Although RCIA usually takes place over a period of ten months there is no set time and each person can progress at his or her own pace.
The process takes place in four stages, during which a small group of enthusiastic Catechists, aided by Sponsors, pass on the Church’s teaching.
Each stage is marked with a ‘rite’ of celebration.
Meetings last about one hour and thirty minutes, and take place in the Parish rooms at 7:30 pm on Tuesday evenings, at notified dates, throughout the year.
These meetings are also a suitable ‘refresher’ for those who have ‘been away’ from the Church and are considering returning.
Meetings: Weekly on Tuesdays, usually over a ten month period
Time: 7:30 pm
Venue: St. Mary’s Presbytery, Gatefield Street,Crewe.
